The Prulka

The Prulka

'The Prulka' is an object in which numerous objects are enclosed such as toys, musical instruments, little lights and so on. Whenever the rack on which these little knick knacks hang rotates, the objects start moving unpredictably: they swing over, tumble and sometimes land on top of each other often making sounds while doing that.
The Prulka turned out to be bull's-eye! The young audience attentively observe the small events and keep doing so for quite a long time. If you watch the little ones closely it is obvious that there is a lot going on in their heads. Maybe they are fascinated by the combination of movement and sound. Are they trying to get to the bottom of what is going on and how it all works? Are they creating little stories in their little heads? You will probably never find out, but their enchantment is obvious.
Right after the performance the Prulka is switched to autopilot which means that it is now automatic and interactive. This is easy to execute using an electrical engine and a switch (like a big red hemisphere, you know the ones) or a handel or pedal or something similar. It is also imperative to place the machine onto a safe hight or at a safe distance. Furthermore a simple lighting and sound plan needs to be set into action.
Surrounding the machine little interactive objects are displayed: airbed pumps connected to wind instruments for children and balloons that go 'beep'.
