The rage of Little Red Riding Hood

Theatre as visual art? Old junk? Master handywoman/man Moniek Smeets and Bram Wiersma can use anything to tell a story. Wiersma&Smeets produce and perform the story, the music, visual aids, sound and technical aids all by themselves in their laboratory theatre. You are presented with a pleasant mix of simplicity and complexity. Original theatre using high tech and low tech. You witness how everything is projected on screen and strangely enough that makes it all the more magical.
For the season 2008-2009 Wiersma&Smeets present 'Little Red Riding Hood Strikes Back!' in sequel to 'Alientje'.

Little Red Riding Hood Strikes Back!
(age: from 7 years)

Little Red Riding Hood lives in a book. This book tells the widely known fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Sounds familiar? Still, nobody knows what happened after she and her grandma came out of the big bad wolf's belly safely. Did they live happily ever after? Do not believe everything they say. After all grandma was still sick and the bad wolf owed her wine and cookies for he had also indulged in the contents of her pantry.
So the story starts all over again. But Little Red Riding Hood is fed up. She tries to escape from the story book, but gets glued back in to it. Reluctantly she is on her way once more. And there he is, the big bad wolf trying to deceive her through cunning and guile all over again. And again she and her grandmother end up in his belly.
And so history repeats itself. But Little Red Riding Hood paid close attention the first time over and now she is familiar with the bad wolf's nasty tricks.
Eventually Little Red Riding Hood and grandma will live happily ever after!
